I trying to use speechinput via voicerecord on a Thinkpad running Win 7 64-bit. As Win 7 comes with its own SAPI, I did not install the speech recognition engine provided on the Inquisit site. And indeed, Inquisit recognizes the microphone. However, timing seems to be completely unreliable as Inquisit is sometimes triggering, sometimes not, and sometimes with a few seconds delay.
I observed a very similar behavior on my old Thinkpd running XP. Thus, I am wondering whether this bahavior is caused by the new Windows SAPI or due to an unlucky hardware constallation on Thinkpad laptops. Any suggestions?
