    Warning about uploading updated scripts

    Dear Community,

I don’t know if others are experiencing this or whether my solution is the only solution for those who have.

I am running a batch script, so when I update my study online, I have to delete and then re-upload several updated versions of the old (supposedly) deleted scripts.  Yet, at least one of most recently uploaded scripts does not seem to be the updated one. When I run it on the web, it looks like the old script that I had deleted from my account before uploading the updated version of that script from my hard drive.  However, no matter how many times I delete that script from the account and upload the new version of it from my hard drive, when I run the script on the web, it seems to be running the older, supposedly deleted script. Then I go to my desktop Inquisit and run the same file from my hard drive but there it seems to be the updated script that is running. I am not sure how the online account is replaced the updated script that I upload with the old deleted script for at least one the updated scripts, but the only solution I have found to this problem is to delete all the scripts from my account and then restart my computer and upload the same scripts again. Only then will my account take the most recent versions of the scripts without somehow replacing them with previously deleted versions.  It is as if I am not able to clear my account of some of the deleted scripts until I restart my computer and redo the upload procedure.

Again, this does not seem to happen with all the scripts that I most recently upload but usually happens to at least one of them. If I had not doubled checked to see if the uploaded scripts truly represented the most recent versions of those scripts, I would have been in big trouble. Therefore, I just wanted to warn the community about this potential concern.

Re: Warning about uploading updated scripts

I suspect what's happening here is that the script is uploading just fine, but a copy of the old script is stored in the browser cache on your computer. Rather than downloading the updated version, it's running the old version from the local cache.

Try opening Internet Explorer, selecting Tools->Options, deleting all temporary files, then try running the study again. Note - even if you use Firefox as your browser, you will need to delete the Internet Explorer cache because that's what is used when Inquisit downloads the script.

Let me know if this helps.
