BACKGROUND INFO

											*Purpose*
This script implements a computerized version of the General Family Functioning Subscale (GFF-12/GFF-6)
of the Family Assessment Device (FAD):

FAD:
Epstein, N. B., Baldwin, L. M., & Bishop, D. S. (1983). The McMaster family assessment device. Journal of Marital
and Family Therapy, 9(2), 171–180. doi:10.1111/j.1752-0606.1983.tb01497.x.

GFF-12/GFF-6:
Boterhoven de Haan, K.L. et al (2015). Reliability and Validity of a Short Version of the General Functioning Subscale
of the McMaster Family Assessment Device. Fam Proc, 54, 116–123.
-> compares the GFF-6 (only positively worded statements) to GFF-12

											  *Task*

GFF-12: 12 statements, rated on 4-point Likert Scales (positively and negatively worded statements)
GFF-6: 6 statements, rated on 4-point Likert Scales (only positively worded statements)

Note: by default, this script runs the GFF-12. To run the GFF-6, go to section Editable Parameters and
change a script setting.

q*_response: response given (in assigned values)
q*_latency: how much time (in ms) the participant spent on the surveypage with this particular question (the last time this particular surveypage was visited)

(2) Summary data file: 'generalfamilyfunctioningsubscale_summary.iqdat' (Inquisit Lab: one data file per participant)

script.startdate: date script was run
script.starttime: time script was started
script.subjectid: subject id number
script.groupid: group id number
script.elapsedtime: time it took to run script (in ms)
computer.platform: the platform the script was run on
/completed: 0 = script was not completed (prematurely aborted); 1 = script was completed (all conditions run)
/version: "GFF-6" vs. "GFF-12" (depends on settings of parameters.runShortVersion)
/GFFScoreSum: the sum of all 12(6) responses
Max GFF12: 48 (the higher the score the more dysfunctional is the family perceived by participant)
								Max GFF6: 24
/GFFScore: the total score from 1.0-4.0 (values.GFFScoreSum divided by the number of questions)

"
/runShortVersion: true (1): the GFF-6 is run
