Running the Karpicke & Roediger (2008) Learning Task with Inquisit

Resources and information for running Karpicke & Roediger (2008) in Inquisit.

Learning Template Scripts

Download template script This script runs the four variations of the learning task used in Karpicke & Roediger (2008). In this task, participants learn Swahili words using four different study and test strategies:
1) All words appear in all study and test phases
2) Correctly recalled words are dropped from subsequence study phases but all words appear in all test phases
3) Correctly recalled words are dropped from subsequence test phases but all words appear in all study phases
4) Correctly recalled words are dropped from subsequence study and test phases
The experiment found that delayed recall performance was best in conditions that repeated exposures during the test phases.
