Hi All

I need to provide my participants with the option to opt out of my survey/experiment at anytime. How do you exit out of Inquisit while a task is running. I have been using the 'Force Quit' command on my Mac to do this myself, but need an easier way for respondents to do so.

The sample survey script I used instructs participants to press ALT + E to exit, however this does not work for me (on my Mac anyway).

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks
Belinda.

The standard hotkey to terminate a running experiment is CTRL+Q. You'll find that documented in the "Inquisit Keyboard Commands" topic in the documentation:

https://www.millisecond.com/support/docs/v4/html/howto/howtokeyboardcommands.htm

You can also define a custom key combination for your script via the <defaults> element's /quitcommand attribute:

https://www.millisecond.com/support/docs/v4/html/language/attributes/quitcommand.htm

Press Command+Option+Escape [ https://www.cleverfiles.com/help/force-quit-mac.html ]
One of the easiest ways to find a solution to “App not responding on Mac” is to just press Command+Option+Escape on your Mac keyboard. It is quite similar to the task manager in the windows operating system. Right after pressing those keys at one, “Fore Quit Applications” window will appear. Now you have to select the apps which are not running or responding. And then click on “Force Quit” button at the bottom of the window.
