Hello everyone,

we are trying to run an experiment in offline mode on Android Tablets (Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5" - Android Version 10). The experiment doesn't have any problems in online mode, but as soon as we download it and try to run it without WLAN connection, even though it works fine, at the end we don't get any data (we activate WLAN and no data are uploaded). If we close and reopen "Inquisit Player" the experiment disappears from the "Tests". If we click on the link to restart the experiment we get the following error message:  File error file to open is a directory (5) '57594_316990b54d2da50a24e541d6a8bef505' Line 81, File Path. cpp, Code 46 . and the experiment doesn't start.

We have also tried the same procedure with a dummy experiment (2 trials only with text ("Hello world","How are you") and the result was exact the same. Thus theoretically the problem should not be the experiment.

The only workaround that we found is to start the experiment when we are online, deactivate the WLAN adapter  after the experiment runs and go through the experiment offline. After we go online again the data are uploaded. However, this is a little bit risky, in case something goes wrong on the field.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be, is it a known issue or are we doing something wrong?

The link to the experiment: https://mili2nd.eu/2hyb (I will leave the dummy experiment on for testing purposes)

Thanks for your help,
Panos

Apologies for the trouble. What you describe is a known issue with offline mode under version 6.3.5, i.e. there is nothing wrong with your particular script or setup. The next update (version 6.4.0) will fix that, and we'll hopefully have that released in the not-too-distant future. (It should have been out by now, but shortly before rollout a small number of blocker issues were discovered.)
