Memory and Affective Flexibility Task - MAFT - English

The Memory and Affective Flexibility Task (MAFT, Allen et al, 2025) provides a behavioral tool to assess two components of affective control: emotional working memory and emotional flexibility. The emotional memory component is measured with an nBack procedure with images differing in emotional valence. The emotional flexibility component is measured using valence evaluations of the presented images that are randomly interwoven into the nBack procedure and thus require a quick response shift.
