Inquisit Lab is a powerful psychological testing platform that runs on dedicated PCs or MAC computers and can be used in the lab or in the field. Inquisit Lab comes with the Inquisit Editor which is the development environment to program Inquisit experiments and surveys.
If you purchased an Inquisit Web license without an Inquisit Lab license or want to try out Inquisit Lab, you may still download Inquisit as a trial version.
Note: the browser used here is Google Chrome
Then run the downloaded executable or application from your download folder.
We recommend using the default settings.
Mac: the installation process is very similar but there may be additional steps involving permission requests for specific Inquisit features such as voicerecording. You can skip these steps and come back to them at a later point.
If you just installed the software and the ‘Launch Inquisit’ box was checked (PC only), the registration window of Inquisit Lab should have automatically opened. If it didn’t open automatically OR you came back later, you can find a shortcut to Inquisit Lab on your desktop (PC only). On MACs, you can locate the Inquisit icon in your Application Folder.
If you haven’t purchased a license for Inquisit Lab (yet), you can try out Inquisit Lab on your computer for 30 days without
a registration key.
This is our trial period and during this timeframe the software is fully functional:
You can program experiments, run experiments and collect data.
After the trial period has expired, Inquisit Lab will simply stop recording participant data. The Editor itself will keep working,
and you can still program Inquisit projects (you can even run them, albeit not collect participant data).
Just click 'Run Free Trial' to start your trial period.
You can also always register Inquisit from within the Editor itself:
