Overview

SOCRATES (version 8) is a self-report measure consisting of 19 5-point Likert Scale questions designed
to assess readiness for change in alcohol abusers.
The instrument provides three subscale scale scores: Recognition (Re), Ambivalence (Am), and Taking Steps (Ts).
SOCRATES is a public domain instrument.

The higher the score, the more steps participant reports to have taken to
to deal with drinking problems.
